Silver & Bronze Adopters
You're welcome to book an alpaca walk separately to visit your adopted alpaca. Our standard walks start from £33. Bronze adopters also receive a FREE Family Open Day ticket (worth £12) where you can meet all our alpacas including yours!
All Adopters
Every adopter receives regular photo updates throughout the year, so even if you can't visit in person, you'll still see your alpaca regularly and follow their development!
Alpaca Adoption FAQ
How long does alpaca adoption last?
All adoptions last for one year from the date of purchase. During this year, you'll receive 4 quarterly email updates with photos and stories about your adopted alpaca. You can renew your adoption each year if you'd like to continue supporting your chosen alpaca!
What happens to my adopted alpaca after the year ends?
Your alpaca continues to receive the same excellent care at our farm! They remain part of our herd, continuing to enjoy daily care, walks with visitors, and a happy life in the Hampshire countryside. You're welcome to renew your adoption to continue receiving updates.
Can I choose which alpaca to adopt?
Yes! You can choose any of our available alpacas for adoption. Each has their own personality, colouring, and background story. Browse all available alpacas on our adoption page to find your perfect match.
Is the adoption tax-deductible?
Hensting Alpacas is a commercial farm rather than a registered charity, so adoptions are not tax-deductible. However, your adoption directly supports the care, welfare, and enrichment of real alpacas at our farm!
Can I adopt an alpaca as a gift for someone else?
Absolutely! Alpaca adoption makes a wonderful gift. When you adopt, you can specify the recipient's name for the certificate. With digital delivery, you can even adopt and gift it the same day - perfect for last-minute gifts!
What's the difference between adopting and buying an alpaca?
When you adopt an alpaca, you're symbolically supporting an alpaca that remains at our farm where we provide all care. When you buy an alpaca, you purchase the animal to take to your own property, taking on full ownership and responsibility for their care. We'll keep you informed via your regular updates. All our alpacas receive excellent veterinary care, and we maintain comprehensive health monitoring. If any significant health events occur with your adopted alpaca, we'll make sure you're informed.
