What You Need to Know

Important Booking Information

Please read these terms carefully before purchasing tickets or vouchers for alpaca walks at Hensting Alpacas, Itchen Valley Country Park, Hampshire.

👶 Age & Supervision Policy

Children must be at least 8 years old to attend
Children under 12 cannot lead their own alpaca
Each child must be accompanied by an adult – 1 adult + 1 child = 1 ticket
Under 16s must be supervised at all times
Adults are responsible for their children's safety and behavior throughout the experience

⏰ Experience Requirements

Please arrive by 09:55 AM for morning walks or 13:25 PM for afternoon walks
Late arrivals are treated as no-shows and cannot be rescheduled or refunded
We walk in all weather conditions, so bring waterproofs and wellies in wet conditions (hire available)
Suitable footwear is mandatory - no sandals, flip-flops, or high heels
All participants must follow safety instructions from our trained staff

🛡️ Health & Safety

Participants attend at their own risk and must be physically capable of walking on uneven terrain
Please inform us of any medical conditions, allergies, or mobility requirements when booking
Pregnant women participate at their own discretion and should consult their doctor first
Anyone under the influence of alcohol or drugs will be refused entry without refund
We reserve the right to refuse entry to anyone behaving inappropriately or unsafely

🌧️ Bad Weather & Cancellation by Us

If a walk is cancelled due to severe weather or safety concerns, you'll be notified by 7:30 AM on the day
You may rebook within 3 months of the cancelled walk date
No refunds are available for cancellations beyond our control
We operate in most weather conditions - dress appropriately!

🎫 Ticket Policies

Tickets are valid only for the date booked and cannot be moved
We do not refund missed walks, including no-shows
If you're unwell, you're welcome to send someone in your place
Booked tickets are non-transferable and non-refundable
Cancellation insurance is available for £4.50 - purchase this to protect your booking

🎁 Voucher Policy

Vouchers are valid for 12 months from purchase (to the end of the date stamped)
They cannot be extended, refunded, or resold
If your voucher expires, it cannot be redeemed later
Please ensure the voucher is suitable before purchase
Vouchers can only be used to make a booking; once used, that booking cannot be moved
If the recipient misplaces their voucher, we cannot reissue it
Vouchers cannot be used for special event pricing

💻 Online Bookings

Tickets are delivered via email. Please check your spam/junk folder
You can show your e-ticket on a phone or bring a printed copy
Tickets remain the property of Hensting Alpacas Ltd and cannot be resold
Booking confirmation constitutes acceptance of these terms and conditions

📸 Photography & Privacy

Photos are taken during the walk and shared on our social media for guests to enjoy
If you do not wish to be photographed, please inform a staff member in advance
We respect your privacy and comply with UK data protection laws
Personal data is used only for booking purposes and legitimate business interests

⚖️ Liability & Insurance

Hensting Alpacas Ltd holds appropriate public liability insurance
Participants accept that alpaca walking involves inherent risks
We are not liable for personal injury, property damage, or loss unless due to our negligence
Participants are responsible for their own belongings and any damage they cause
Animals are unpredictable - follow all safety instructions at all times

🏠 Property & Behavior

Respect our animals, staff, other visitors, and the natural environment
No smoking, littering, or inappropriate behavior on the premises
Dogs and other pets are not permitted during alpaca experiences
Do not feed the alpacas anything other than provided feed
Any damage to property may result in charges for repair or replacement

🗺️ Facilities & Access

Walks are held at Itchen Valley Country Park, Allington Lane, West End, Southampton, SO30 3HQ
Parking charges apply at the country park (£3.30 short stay, £5.30 full day)
Look for the Hensting Alpacas sign just after the car park entrance
Accessible walks available on Wednesdays - please book appropriate tickets
Toilet facilities available at the country park visitor center

🌪️ Events Beyond Our Control

We are not liable for cancellations due to events beyond our control (force majeure)
This includes severe weather, natural disasters, government restrictions, or emergencies
In such cases, we will attempt to reschedule but cannot guarantee availability
No compensation is payable for inconvenience or additional costs incurred
